چکیده
A single-molecule microscopy study of the interaction dye-modified alkanes, alkenes, and alkynes with nanostructured catalysts based on TiO2 reveals significant differences in desorption kinetics probe molecules depending chemical nature catalyst. comparison materials decorated palladium (Pd@TiO2) or molybdenum/cobalt (MoCo@TiO2) kinetic that part justify better performance MoCo@TiO2 semihydrogenation reactions. Whereas rate is ∼50% higher for than Pd@TiO2, analysis at bench scale indicate alkene-to-alkane conversion around 10 times faster Pd (k2Pd = 0.02 s–1) MoCo (k2MoCo 0.002 catalysts. This suggests selectivity not solely determined by processes hydrogenation constant (k21) on-surface alkenes to alkanes much Pd@TiO2 MoCo@TiO2. Thus, latter shows greater toward partial reactions compared whose great becomes a disadvantage needed processes.

Mechanistic insights into plasmonic photocatalysts in utilizing visible light
The utilisation of sunlight as an abundant and renewable resource has motivated the development of sustainable photocatalysts that can collectively harvest visible light. However, the bottleneck in utilising the low energy photons has led to the discovery of plasmonic photocatalysts. The presence of noble metal on the plasmonic photocatalyst enables the harvesting of visible light through the u...

Titania is the most widely studied photocatalyst. In its mixed-phase configuration ( anatase–rutile form) – as manifested in the commercially available P25 Degussa material – titania was previously found to exhibit the best photocatalytic properties reported for the pure system. A great deal of published research by various workers in the field has not fully explained the underlying mechanism f...
متن کاملPairwise hydrogen addition in the selective semihydrogenation of alkynes on silica-supported Cu catalysts.
Mechanistic insight into the semihydrogenation of 1-butyne and 2-butyne on Cu nanoparticles supported on partially dehydroxylated silica (Cu/SiO2-700) was obtained using parahydrogen. Hydrogenation of 1-butyne over Cu/SiO2-700 yielded 1-butene with ≥97% selectivity. The surface modification of this catalyst with tricyclohexylphosphine (PCy3) increased the selectivity to 1-butene up to nearly 10...

Energy band engineering and the nature of surface/interface of a semiconductor play a significant role in searching high efficiency photocatalysts. Actually, the active facets, morphology controlling, especially the exposed facets modulation of photocatalysts during preparation are very desirable. In order to achieve high photocatalytic performance, intrinsic mechanism of such anisotropic prope...
متن کاملThe Cycloaddition of the Benzimidazolium Ylides with Alkynes: New Mechanistic Insights
New insights concerning the reaction mechanism in the cycloaddition reaction of benzimidazolium ylides to activated alkynes are presented. The proposed pathway leading both to 2-(1H-pyrrol-1-yl)anilines and to pyrrolo[1,2-a]quinoxalin-4(5H)-ones involves an opening of the imidazole ring from the cycloaddition product, followed by a nucleophilic attack of the aminic nitrogen to a proximal carbon...
